what kind of insect ?

what kind of insect ?
Livermore / Sycamore grove park, Alameda County, California, USA
July 30, 2007
Size: 1 cm
I found this little bug out on a dry trail on a hot day . It sprung up off the dirt onto a stone for a couple of photos . I was not sure if it was a Springtail or not because I thought Springtails had 3 prongs on the tail and this one only had one . I saw a post from Oklahoma on one that looks similar , but has an armored look and mine is smooth ... could they be related species ? Thanks for any comment to further my knowledge , sincerely Beth

How about Jumping Bristetail
