Steatoda species - Steatoda grossa

Steatoda species - Steatoda grossa
Seattle, King County, Washington, USA
October 21, 2007
Size: body 6mm
Found under a board in my alley, not sure if an ID to species can be made with this photo...

Moved
Moved from Steatoda.

A
S. grossa. Adults often retain markings.

Not sure.
Might even be a juvenile S. grossa. I have a feeling that they lose some of the pale markings as they age....much like widows.

Well I'll leave it here (in genus) for now...
We certainly have a lot of S. grossa, but it's also possible we have other species, too. My photo that shows the markings more clearly turned out to be blurry, so I didn't post it.
