unknown wasp -
Linepithema humile
-
Aromas, San Benito County, California, USA
October 22, 2007
Size: ~2.5mm.
This tiny guy came to the black light last night (live oak/chaparral habitat). I assume it is a wasp of some kind, I can't see the wings well enough to be sure it's not a fly.

Argentine Ant (Linepithema humile) - male
Antennal scapus is very short in males of some ant genera, making antennae barely elbowed.
Argentine ant is one of the few examples where males have exactly the same color as female castes, although being very differently shaped.
