colorful bug - Closterocoris amoenus

colorful bug - Closterocoris amoenus
Anthony Chabot Park, San Leandro, Alameda County, California, USA
May 26, 2005
Identified by looking at UCB specimens. I could be wrong (I know little about mirids -- there are too many of them that look similar!) ... but this is a uniquely colorful species and I didn't see any other species in the collection with these colors and pattern, from California.

Have found a number of these in the flowers of Mimulus aurantiacus (Bush Monkeyflower).
