Life cycle question
Would it likely go from egg to adult in 4 days? (The beginning of long overdue rain fall, even the streams near here were bone dry just before that.)

Nope. That would be a rate of
Nope. That would be a rate of development that you wouldn't see. This species generally prefers floodwaters, or pools of collected rain.
I would guess in your area the time from egg to adult would be around 9-10 days.
