Green Midge - Tanytarsus - female

Green Midge - Tanytarsus - Female
Medford, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, USA
November 2, 2007
Size: ~ 4 - 5 mm
Seen on the side of a house in the afternoon.

Hm....
Looks to be a female Green Midge. The long forelimbs allow them to sit on the surface of the water as they lay their eggs.

Thanks
