Author: Duponchel, 1843
Numbers
The genus Coleophora has more than 158 species in America, north of Mexico. (1)
Size
Wingspan about 10-13 mm. (Duponchel)
Range
Oklahoma, eastward throughout the northeastern United States and southeastern Canada.
Native to Europe.

Larval hosts include:
Ulmus L. (elm).
Alnus Mill. (alder).
Betula L. (birch).
Remarks
Introduced from Europe.
Larvae construct spatulate leaf cases. (2)
Jean-François Landry, a noted expert on Coleophora, says it is impossible to identify adults of this species without dissection or DNA barcoding.
