Is this a Shamrock spider ? - Araneus trifolium - Female
Point Reyes, Marin County, California, USA
November 11, 2007
Size: 3/4 "
I went bug-hunting on a rainy day at Point Reyes . It was challenging to find any wildlife in the cold , dampness . I was so happy to see a beautiful web strung along the tops of the dry grasses measuring about a foot round . I found the lovely spider huddled at the corner of her web in a debri shelter . She was very impressive . She looks like a Shamrock spider to me , but I am not sure , can anyone confirm this ? I would really appreciate any replies , thanks , Beth

Hi Beth,
nice shot. I'm not an expert, but I think you're right. It certainly looks a lot like this one .
