a puzzler
Judging from the paleness of the tail-end, I wouldn't be surprised if this critter could produce light. As a candidate for a firefly, it's more convincing than my photo but on the other hand, it still has a ways to go to match an adult. No doubt somebody knows for sure whether this is a firefly or a net-winged beetle; at the moment, that somebody isn't me.
