Pseudodoros Clavatus - Pseudodoros clavatus - male

Pseudodoros Clavatus - Pseudodoros clavatus - Male
Norris City, White County, Illinois, USA
November 12, 2007
Size: Approx. 1/2 in. long
The flower this insect was on was about the size of a nickel, so you can tell just how small it actually was. It kind of resembled a wasp, but there were a lot of different types of flies out on these flowers, so I'm assuming it's a fly of some kind. Does anybody recognize it?

Syrphini
There are a couple of genera of Syrphini which are that slender. Sorry that I don't know more.

Pseudodoros clavatus, it is.
Nice find, Kenny! (Nice shot, too.)

Thanks!
Thanks for everybody's help!
