Brochymena quadripustulata

Brochymena quadripustulata
Snowhill Road north of Cabin Branch Creek, Durham County, North Carolina, USA
November 1, 2007
Size: 15 mm
Found on a lighted breezeway in the morning, captured, posed, measured. See linked images of scent gland, consistent with characters given for this species by Slater and Baranowski (1). Since this is a widespread and common species, I believe this is very likely correct. Also note the abundance of this species in the North Carolina State University entomology collection--317 pinned!

Good call
And great series of pictures. I believe your ID is correct. It doesn't look like B. arborea, which has the base of the scutellum markedly elevated (see images in the guide).
