Apterona helix (Siebold, 1850), referred to as
Apterona crenulella (Bruand, 1853) by some authors, has been the name applied to North American specimens of this species. This is treated as a parthenogenetic form of
Apterona helicoidella (Vallot, 1827) by the World Catalogue of Insects, Vol. 10: Psychidae (Lepidoptera)
