Well, I always hope I'll find something unusual, alas, I believe this is just a Nicrophorus orbicollis, but I'd love to be surprised!

If you still have this specimen
can you check the hind tibia and see if they are straight or curved? I cannot see them clearly in the lateral view. Trying to clean up silphid images, and this one is not making me happy.

 
Staight
Compared to N. marginatus, the tibia are very straight sided. Why is this making you unhappy?
