Size: 5.5mm
Collected in flight-intercept trap (28 April-12 May 2001) in hardwood forest.

. . . for all the superb images of (I suspect) properly identified Histerids. This family now already became one of the best covered in bugguide, did´nt it?

Getting there. I have a whole lot of work left to do to even get images of just the Wisconsin fauna out there. We have just over 100 spp. So I'm just over 1/4 done. Hopefully my productivity will pick up during winter. Then we need to start fleshing out the informative part of the site.

Identifying Northern US histerids became a whole lot easier with the publication of Bousquet and Laplante's treatment of the Histeridae of Canada. It is a fantastic work and I highly recommend it to anyone having the slightest interest in the family.
