Hello,

I photographied that Rhagionidae fly last July at Sherbrooke, Quebec (near Vermont)...

Is it possible to identify the genus and species???

Not an expert
But it looks as though a lot of these haven't been IDed below genus so far (on BugGuide). Any way yours looks like this one in genus Rhagio

Finally I agree with you and it is for sure Rhagio sp...

I doubted that it could be R. tringarius but found no trace of it in North America... Thank you very much for that so interesting file. I keep the link within my favorite...
