Melanophora roralis

Melanophora roralis
Willingboro, Burlington County, New Jersey, USA
November 22, 2007
Size: Maybe around 5 mm?
Only got one poor image of this small all black fly. Maybe some red in the eyes. Spikey enough hair on the back to be Tachinidae? I just found Melanophora roralis. Maybe?

I think so (Melanophora roralis)
Hardly any other fly presents this peculiar color pattern on wings.

Nice find.
They're scarce evidently. Hope you get a shot at another one, too.
