Karteroiulus alaskanus - Kateroiulus alaskanus

Karteroiulus alaskanus - Kateroiulus alaskanus
Sitka County, Alaska, USA
July 21, 2007
This millipede is quite common around Sitka. It seems to like to eat fungi (I have seen them working on several different species of mushrooms) and on one occasion I found them eating on a slime mold. This one was just crawling around in some loose cobbles that were loosely covered in leaves.
