Is this just another variation of Pityohyphantes? Perhaps not since the division between the cephalothorax and abdomen is much more pronounced than the other spiders in the photos that I have recently submitted. This spider was found by brushing through some low-lying garden plants. It wasn't very lively.

Right family.
I'm nearly positive you have the right family, if not the right genus. The 'constriction' is no different than other individuals, just that this particular body posture accentuates the division between cephalothorax and abdomen.
