Identified as S. alutacea based on shape of subgenital plate, cerci being bilobed, and fore-tibiae being half as thick as fore-femurs.

Schistocerca rubiginosa
Hi, Shape of subgenital plate in S. alutacea and S. rubiginosa is basically the same. Notch is perhaps a tad smaller in this one. Also, cerci are a tad smaller in this one; color tends to be rusty brown and dorsal pale stripe is usually absent or faint; thorax narrows a bit less toward front and head is proportionately a bit larger; tegmina tend to be a bit mottled with dark spots in this one. Some would still debate if this is a distinct species from S. alutacea (including me).
