Some argid sawflies are known to feed on Acacia. but larvae aren't known well enough to make an id.

We were thinking one of the Whites,
but it looks like about 6 or more pair of abdominal prolegs. We would suggest Sawfly larva

 
I mislabeled this one..it sho
I mislabeled this one..it should have been filed under sawfly. They were defoliating this one little tree. Of course I can't remember the name of the tree.

 
With those small leaflets
it looks like a legume. Maybe Mesquite or something.

I think the host plant was Acacia smallii, common name Huisache.
