Hymenoptera in flight

Hymenoptera in flight
Curlew Lake, 10 miles northeast, Ferry County, Washington, USA
June 4, 2007
Photographed near Curlew Lake, ~10 miles Northeast of Republic, ~20 Miles south of the Canadian Border, ~150 miles east of the Cascade mountains, ~2100 ft in elevation.

Looking furthur
It looks similer to images in the Sphecodes gallery. Thoughts??

Not Sphecodes.
Don't ask me why, it just doesn't look 'right.' For one thing, Sphecodes are generally much deeper red in color on the abdomen. I think this is still a halictid, but moving to "bees" page for now.
