Pine Sawyer? -
Monochamus carolinensis
Barkhamsted, Litchfield County, Connecticut, USA
I think I have this down to the Pine Sawyer level. I live up north. Is it possible to get the Southern Pine Sawyer up here? Because it's markings favor the Southern more than the Northern. More distinct.

I would say...
Monochamus carolinensis, based on what I can see of the elytral apices.

Monochamus carolinensis female?
I think both
Monochamus carolinensis
and
titillator
are possible.
The less spotted pattern and the stouter body reminds me more of the former, though the examination of the apical spines would be desirable.
There are no many pictures of
M. caroliniensis
in the Web, but you can confront the types of both species at:

Pine Sawyer
I see what you mean about the stoutness of the body. I will accept your call as I have no experience in the Id of too many Flat facers. Thanks, Francesco.
