Twice-Stabbed Stink Bug Nymph - Apateticus
Parnell Tower, Sheboygan County, Wisconsin, USA
July 2, 1996
Found Cosmopepla lintneriana (formerly bimaculata) nymph around Parnell Tower during the day. ID by Steven J. Krauth, Curator of Insect Research Collection, UW-Madison, WI. After seeing other photos of the nymph, I'm confused.

Not Cosmopepla
we have nymphs associated with adults in the guide, e.g. here:
and they are clearly different. It may be Perillus, but looks different from the "bioculatus" nymphs in the guide (if properly identified, however?).

Twice-Stabbed or Two-spotted?
Someone on the internet (dubious already?) has a very similar image that they believe to possibly be Perillus. I made the leap and assumed that they were thinking Two-spotted Stink Bug (Perillus bioculatus)? More confused?
