Moved from Chortophaga.

Chortophaga viridifasciata
There is a broad zone where the two "species" contact one another and intergrade, with traits from "australior" showing up in specimens across Texas and as far north as Nebraska, Ohio, and Virginia. However, in Texas they are generally refered to as C. viridifasciata, and this one is leaning heavily that way in markings, so that's what I'd call it. The banded hind legs are supposed to be a trait of C. australior, but they also show up in most C. viridifasciata populations, even far to the north.

Moved to:

Chortophaga sp., female
Nice shot of a female in the genus Chortophaga, caught in the act of pooping:-)
