Melanoplus femurrubrum probably
I'm not certain, but fairly sure of the species. This is a specimen that has just molted. The wings may have not expanded properly, but since the color pattern of the nymph still dominates (the very different adult pattern would show soon) the wings were probably still in the process of expanding. Usually the insect would be perched in a vertical position at this time, rather than horizontal as this one. This seemed worth further comment, because there are few photos here of grasshoppers at this stage of development.

Female Melanoplus sp.
This is a tattered female in the genus Melanoplus. Females of most species cannot be identified reliably without being associated with males.
