Red-legged Grasshopper
The prominently bulgy look of the end of this little fellow's abdomen and what looks to be a clean 'scooped' finish to his external genitalia suggests that this guy's a red-legged grasshopper or Melanoplus femurrubrum. The colouring and markings are also very typical of the more brightly coloured individuals, at least the ones I've seen.
