Ceranemota albertae

Ceranemota albertae
100 m E of Hwy. 1, 14.1 km S of Lytton, Fraser Canyon, Thompson-Nicola, British Columbia, Canada
September 24, 2007
Species shown is Ceranemota albertae. I noticed there is no genus in the guide for this species so i put it under the subfamily for now. This species is quite common in the fall. In BC Ceranemota genus is represented by 3 species: albertae, fasciata and improvisa. Fasciata and improvisa are very similar to one another and are lighter in color. Wing markings are also more contrasting. I have never seen them at lights. C. albertae is quite common in the fall, especially in September. It doesn't seem to have much intraspecific variation, at least in the regions i collected in.
