Numbers
3 spp. in our area, ~180 total(1); our fauna: O. geometricus (Casey 1893) (=Phelister geometricus; OK-TX-Mexico; in the O. hamistrius group) + 2 members of the O. marginellus group, both in the guide
Size
1.1‒5.6 mm, our spp. 1.56‒2.15 mm(1)
Range
Neotropical genus by far most diverse in S. America, with few spp. ranging into the US (eastern half)(1)
Habitat
our spp. prefer sandy areas; inhabit Aphaenogaster nests(2)
