Acanthochalcis nigricans - Gleeson, Cochise County, Arizona, USA August 3, 1997 Size: 19 mm w/ovipositor
This species has been reared from Dicerca horni by Jeff Halstead and I here in California. It is commonly seen flying around Baccharis sergiloides in Arizona. There are dense patches of white hair on the sides of the abdomen that separate this species from Acanthochalcis unispinosa (lacks the hairs). Sorry that they don't show up very well.
