Northern Green-striped Grasshopper - Chortophaga viridifasciata - male

Northern Green-striped Grasshopper - Chortophaga viridifasciata - Male
Near Penny's Bend Reserve, Durham County, North Carolina, USA
April 20, 2005
Size: 24 mm
Presumably a male based on behavior (display flights from open areas, color, and small size.) Captured, chilled, and posed. Length measured by photographing adjacent to a scale. Lenth was 20 mm, head to tip of abdomen, 24 mm, head to tip of folded wings. This is a very dark individual, and I thought it was an Arphia at first.
