Candy cane bug?

Candy cane bug?
Sylvania, Lucas County, Ohio, USA
December 19, 2007
Size: Tiny
I saw motion out of the corner of my eye and glanced down to see this tiny fly enjoying a tiny shard of the candy cane I'd placed on the end table. Given his taste for this most Christmasy of candies - I guess we have to rule out Hum Bug:0) (Ron, I couldn't resist referencing your remark) What is this sweet-toothed fly?

Moved
Moved from Flies.

Phoridae
Almost identical pose as .

Thanks, Jeff -
for helping me ID this visitor. That is a remarkably similar pose.

Tiny fly? How about Tiny Tim?
Cute little dickens.

What's left to say, Ron , but . . .
Merry Christmas! You're a hoot. Thanks.
