Pair of Predacious Diving Beetles - Acilius mediatus - Male Female
Near Ruraldale, Upshur County, West Virginia, USA

I believe the species is Acilius mediatus. This seems to be a pair photographed either preliminary to mating or after mating. This is the most common Predacious Diving Beetle in my area.
