Orchard Orb weaver spider? - Leucauge argyra

Orchard Orb weaver spider? - Leucauge argyra
Naples, Collier County, Florida, USA
December 26, 2007
Size: 1 cm
I am seeing discussion about various species in this general area of spiders.
This version is the common orb weaver in the area and has been call the Orchard Orb weaver by locals.
Is it Leucauge venusta or some other related species?
I can do closer images but wanted to show the web too.

Actually both the web pattern
with that little central dome and the body color pattern make us think this is more likely Plesiometa argyra. Check in the guide here and see what you think while you wait for a confirmation from Jeff.
A couple more images closer and from other aspects would be lovely if you have them. But you were right that the web would be important.

Orchard Orb weaver
I have added two more images.
I hope that they help.

Very nice!
We'll move them all to Plesiometa.
