Neobarrettia victoriae - male

Neobarrettia victoriae - Male
Jct V Road and SR54, Seward County, Kansas, USA
September 4, 2005
The smaller of the two North American Neobarrettia species (see N. spinosa). Active during the day. Individuals move deftly, climbing in a monkeylike fashion through vegetation. This locality was a shortgrass prairie remnant near agricultural land, dominated by sand sage and soapweed yucca.
