Platypedia minor
Neoplatypedia has the front margin of the wings thickened, and fewer cells in the wing tip. Two species are intermediate between typical Platypedia and Neoplaypedia - P. minor and P. vanduzeei (the latter of which is smaller).

This is the first record of this species from OR - and this is in the northern part of the state.

Glad to have an ID
Andy, thanks for your ID on this insect. I don't know much about cicadas, but I am glad I posted this now so that others who specialize can extend its range. By the way, I collected two other specimens that day if more photos of them are desired also.
