Ground Beetle 1630 - Harpalus

Ground Beetle 1630 - Harpalus
Monhegan Island, Maine, USA
August 25, 2007
Size: ~16mm
Harpal*us pen*sylvanicus perhaps? Not too happy with how shiny it is. Only one of the four examples currently in the guide is shiny but I think it is misidentified.

Dont know the species, but
agrees well with the others in the guide - except for the one you have already commented upon (and which I moved to tribe level now).

Thank You
I always appreciate your help. Moving to genus unless you think even that is premature.

Looks right
I'll second Harpalus. Species are tough in this genus!
