A large group of larvae were feeding on Maurandya antirrhiniflora (Scrophulariaceae) -- Snapdragon Vine.

10154 - Lepipolys perscripta
Identified with the help of Dave Wagner and several of his researcher associates. A link is given on the species page in the Guide to a similar photo at Bruce Walsh's website for Southeastern Arizona. This photo plus one in the files from the Flagstaff area should be moved to the species page.

Please Change to Lepipolys Genus Level for Now
Dave Wagner suggested that I read again the emails that were exchanged regarding the ID of this caterpillar. I did that, and they do not firmly identified this larva at the species level. It is probably a Lepipolys, but it very well might not be L. perscripta. It seems that, across the continent, there might be as many as four or five closely allied cryptic species to be sorted out when someone has time to do the research and rearing experiments.

Is the Photo Originally Posted Here Deemed to be L. perscripta?
Frank, I suspect you are confirming this to be Lepipolys perscripta. Few, if any, of the folks here will have access to Chemical Ecology.
