Alleculinae Laporte 1840
Numbers
ca. 160 spp. in 19 genera north of Mexico; 140 genera in 2 tribes worldwide; all NA genera are in the tribe Alleculini and represent all 4 recognized subtribes:(1)
Alleculina: worldwide; 6 genera in NA, incl. our largest alleculine genus Hymenorus, and Lobopoda; the remaining genera mostly southwestern
Gonoderina: Holarctic, with 7 genera in NA, more diverse in the east
Mycetocharina: Holarctic, with 2 genera in N/A
Xystropodina (=Lystronychina): New World; 2 genera in our area, both southwestern
Identification
pectinate claws gave the group its common name (not the only determining characteristic)
