Pseudomyrmex cf. gracilis
A dealated female. Would have become the foundress of a new colony, but seems in very bad condition if not already dead. This red and black color pattern is the hallmark for P. gracilis and very closely related species (P. gracilis complex).
First occurence from Louisiana in BG if I remember well: since the quality of this pic is very good, it would be a pity to frass it.

Thanks Richard and Matthew.

Since there aren't a significant number of photos of this ant in the guide. I'll post a few more. Frass any that are a waste of server space.

This ant was essentially dead when the photos were taken. There was an infestation of red ants near where this ant was found. I had to spray the red ants and this one may have been affected.

Pseudomyrmex sp.
Looks like Pseudomyrmex to me. I'm sorry but I don't know the exact species.
