"terminal" leaf-footed bug - Acanthocephala terminalis

Size: about 20 mm
On shrub in woods. A terminalis is apparently the only species of Acanthocephala that occurs north of North Carolina. The ranges of the other 4 North American species are listed in the Guide.

it looks like there is a Tachinid fly egg smack in the middle of the thorax, something Eric pointed out to us here...
