A possible Chironomidae larva specimen. This picture is of the Counterpart, linked picture is of the Part.
One layer at the fossil site, very fine grain ashy one with excellent preservation ablility, has been fond that occasionally produces these larva. In 1994 a specimen was tenatively IDed as Chironomidae.
The environment which this specimen lived in was upland subtropical/temperate, think SE Asia and SE USA combined, subtropical mixed broadleaf forest with a strong coniferous segment
