syrphid fly? - Chalcosyrphus nemorum

syrphid fly? - Chalcosyrphus nemorum
Harvard, Worcester County, Massachusetts, USA
April 28, 2005
Is this one of the syrphids?

Moved
Moved from Chalcosyrphus.

Syrph
More likely Xylota or Chalcosyrphus.

Chalcosyrphus
The hind leg looks a little beefier in the Chalcosyrphus than Xylota. So that's what I'll go with. Thanks Herschel.

Yes, Syrphidae
But I don't know enough to pinpoint genus or species. Try looking in Tribe Milesiini.
