Symphypleona - Sminthurus fischeri
Houston, Harris County, Texas, USA

Size: ~2 mm

Moved

Sminthurus fischeri
With incomplete pigmentation. Therefore... still growing ;-)

Thanks
Frans. That's odd, I also got this species in Illinois! Thanks again.

2mm...
...a giant among springtails!

Maybe 1.5mm.
However, for me 2mm is about average, maybe even small, but I do live in Texas. Everything's bigger here! Up north, however, I sometimes see monsters like Steven's.

I've come up with 0.5mm...
...for the average size of these ones that I photographed:

I'm pretty sure that is in the right ballpark. Maybe I should double check. That one of Steve's looks like it must be a very, very, distant relative.
