Small Carpenter Bee? - Ceratina calcarata - male

Small Carpenter Bee? - Ceratina calcarata - Male
Hampshire County, Massachusetts, USA
May 5, 2005
Size: ~7 mm
Found feeding on a dandelion.

Moved

very likely C. calcarata
based on shape of hind femur (similar tooth also found in C. strenua, but I think this image is of calcarata)

Ceratina male.
Right on, Tony! It is a male, also, evidenced by the enlarged hind femora. That might even be a species character if I recall correctly.

Thanks Eric!
I'll hafta look into the femur-thingy...
