Blister Beetle ? ? Blister Beetle ? ?

confirmed
but not Meloe!

Which blister beetle?
Thanks Will & Boris...maybe someone else can solve the mystery. I don't ever remember seeing one of these while I was growing up here! My folks bought this Place in 1940, when I was 5 years old.

Epicauta?
I strongly suspect this is a male specimen in the genus Epicauta, one of the most confounding genera of all North American insects.

I think so
Though I can't tell what genus. The antennae do look reminiscent of Meloe, but I think they're all black
