I found these under a piece of loose bark on a dead tree stump. They are very hard. I know, because I ran the top of a knife blade gently across them. I thought at first this was some type of fungi and found out otherwise when I took some images and magnified them on the camera view screen.

Could these be some type of true bug eggs? Seemed like a strange place to find them though, but they were well hidden!
