Green Stink Bug - Chinavia hilaris

Green Stink Bug - Chinavia hilaris
Sand Springs, Osage County, Oklahoma, USA
January 27, 2008
Size: 9.5mm (3/8")
I believe this is a Green Stink Bug - Acrosternum hilare. It was under an old decomposing piece of a tree. We just sort of stared at each other then it went on its way. Please help with ID.

I've been searching
for overwintering stinkbugs, but haven't been successful yet. Great find and pictures!

Thanks!
I was a little shocked when I saw it because the bright green really stood out against the winter brown once I turned over the old tree part. It was sort of down under there with rotting wood and leaf litter.

I think you are right
for the genus, at least.
