Moved from Subgenus Dialictus.

Lasioglossum albohirtum?
Very few Dialictus are so abundantly hairy.

what about pruinosiforme?
note color of wing veins

AMNH albohirtum have tarsi and tibia in part orange. This specimen seems to have darker legs.

semicaeruleum?
John you're right about the hind leg colour of albohirtum. But I haven't seen L. semicaeruleum (soon to be a senior syn of L. pruinosiforme) with such abundant tomentum laterally on T1.

when IDing bees from photos
I've noticed that tomentum often looks more extensive than when viewed through the scope. I suppose the individual hairs blur together in the image.

I think its semicaeruleum (aka pruinosiforme) but further commentswould be most welcome

Appreciate
the ID direction, will wait for more discussion before final placement. Thanks again for the information.

Lasioglossum (Dialictus)
can't ID to species - but that really is a nice photo, given the size of the subject

Dialictus?
Why Dialictus?

Halictidae.
Wow, Kerry, what a phenomenal portrait! This is a halictid bee, I am pretty confident, but not sure of the genus. Lasioglossum, perhaps?

Info appreciated
as well as the compliment. Right place, right time, and remembered to turn on the camera and flash before pushing the button. It's getting difficult to resist the urge to access the Zoological Record and track down reprints. Now it seems important to learn more about Lasioglossum; species, ranges, morphology, credit history, etc.
