I found this beetle under a rock. I think it is a ground beetle of some sort.

Nice photo.
Nice photo, and one that would probably be improved by adjusting the brightness. Cameras try to always give an "average tone," neither bright nor dark. I am guessing your background here was really white, but the camera has turned it gray in an effort to give an average tone for the photo. If you lighten the photo up until the background is white again, it may reveal more detail of your Carabid.

Some cameras let you do this adjustment before you take the picture, by setting exposure compensation to "+1" or "+2."

Nice beetle, seems to have some coppery metallic colors.

Beautiful! It's definitely a ground beetle, family Caribidae.

 
Might be....
This could be Pterostichus chalcites, one of the few metallic beetles in that genus.
