Maybe The Pasture Grasshopper's Bigger 'Cousin'...
...Orphulella pelidna? Can be variably coloured, sized up to 26 mm or so, and does well in both damp areas and more arid locales. Also sports a variety of common names: spotted-winged grasshopper, barrens locust, green desert grasshopper. There are three images of these hoppers already on this site under the spotted-winged name.

Orphulella pelidna
Yep, that's what it is. The common names are interesting. I've only seen it (in the west) in moist places within fairly course grass, often marshy areas, sloughs, moist roadsides, streamsides, etc. I've never seen it in dry places, let alone actually in the desert itself. Also, most of the ones I've seen in desert regions are rather plain and brown (not often green).

That would be me....I am hoping folks more familiar with slant-faced grasshoppers can help us out here. Thank you.
